App recording formats: 11-a-side

Your goal

Use passes to create space and score in the opponents’ goal. On day one, look around before receiving the ball and connect with a nearby teammate.

Key terms

Pass: send the ball to a teammate. Dribble: move with the ball. Throw-in: restart after the ball leaves the touchline. Offside: an offence involving participation in play, not position alone.

Key rules · official rules and app defaults

The checked text of IFAB Law 7 specifies two 45-minute halves plus added time. Agree on shortened club matches and check competition rules before playing. The app supports 11-a-side with two halves. Referees decide offside and handball; the app does not make video decisions.

Equipment and safety

Wear shin guards and footwear suited to the surface, and check that goals are secured. Avoid heavy contact and sliding in a first match. Stop immediately after a collision or suspected head injury.

Your first practice

Start with gentle walking and joint mobility. Practise inside-foot passes with a partner, look both ways before receiving and take your first touch into open space.

Your first match

Confirm the goalkeeper, positions, substitutions, match duration and offside application. Choose nearby passes and stop when the referee whistles.

Recording in the app and its limits

Select 11-a-side and confirm both teams. Record a goal only after it is awarded. Match the clock and half changes to the referee’s progress. Enter cards and substitutions only when confirmed on the field.

Common beginner mistakes

Looking down at the ball constantly: scan before receiving. Ending a match when the app clock expires: wait for the referee. Keeping a disallowed goal: compare recent events with the actual score.

Coach script · demonstration · check understanding

Explain: “Look once for your teammates before receiving.” Demonstrate: combine scanning with an inside-foot pass. Short practice: pass to a partner and move sideways. Check: “Does the match end as soon as the app clock expires?” Feedback: “Accurate pass. Lift your head before receiving next time.”
