App recording formats: Singles, Doubles, Mixed doubles
Your goal
Land the shuttle in the opponents’ court and protect your own. Start by moving under the shuttle and hitting with balance.
Key terms
Shuttle: the feather or synthetic projectile. Clear: a high, deep shot. Drop: a shot landing near the net. Service court: the area used to serve and receive.
Key rules · official rules and app defaults
The app supports singles, doubles and mixed doubles using a BWF 2025-based model: 21 points, a two-point margin, a 30-point cap and best of three games. The BWF official list also links new rules scheduled to take effect on 4 January 2027, so check the edition applicable on the match date. Only the opening of the 2025 text was obtained; do not decide service height or order solely from this guide.
Equipment and safety
Use court shoes and a light racket. In doubles, leave your partner room to swing. Turn to move backwards rather than running backwards. Stop if there is a risk of eye or shoulder injury.
Your first practice
Practise changes of direction without a racket, gently tap a shuttle, try short serves and cooperative high rallies. Return to the central ready position after each shot.
Your first match
Check singles and doubles boundaries and agree on the first server and receiver. Say the score and serving position together before serving. Learn the order in a short practice game.
Recording in the app and its limits
Select the actual singles, doubles or mixed-doubles format. Record the rally winner, then check service and game score. In doubles, compare partners and serving order with the actual match.
Common beginner mistakes
Hitting forcefully from behind the shuttle: move first. Confusing doubles and singles courts: check boundaries. Guessing the next server: compare score and order.
Coach script · demonstration · check understanding
Explain: “Move under the shuttle before reaching out.” Demonstrate: slowly move, hit and recover. Short practice: alternate a short serve and return. Check: “Besides the score, what do we check after a rally?” Feedback: “Faster recovery. Lift the racket earlier next time.”
